As with many events, appointments and everyday goings-on, even the mandatory annual UK MOT, for vehicles over 3 years old, has had some interference and adjustment. Due to lockdown and many workplaces being shut down, minimised and having to adhere to social distancing, it has been recognised that vehicle MOT’s for certain time periods needed some sort of extension to give car owners a chance to get their MOT accomplished safely.
Therefore, any MOT’s that expired on or after 30 March 2020 through 31 July 2020 have been extended for 6 months. Please be aware that if your MOT was due from 1 August 2020, there will not be an option to extend and you must complete a MOT as normal. If you ever forget or lose track of your MOT information you can visit https://www.gov.uk./check-mot-status and enter your vehicle details in order to see if you have an MOT certificate and when it expires.
