Small checks are required during the winter, such as looking at oil levels, water levels, tyres and your battery. Cars can often be deprived during the winter period, and whilst we can understand why you wouldn’t want to clean your car during the winter, but these essentials do need to be carried out, especially if you’re going to be frequently using your car over the Christmas period.
Tyres should always be pumped to meet the car’s requirements; it can not only Save fuel but reduce the chances of skidding or sliding on slippery surfaces. Oil doesn’t’ necessarily have to be changed during the winter, unless it has been an extremely long time, but making sure it is at the right level is fundamental.
Don’t forget the important accessories such as a scraper, perhaps de-icer and antifreeze, which should be added to your windscreen reservoir and your coolant.
